International community schools are currently seeking exceptional IGCSE History & Geography Teacher for the Academic year 2023/2024. Our school provides high-quality education and follows both the American and British curricula.

Responsibilities:

Key Tasks:

Delivering inspiring lessons that encourage students to succeed and achieve their best possible outcomes.

Roles and responsibilities include:

Teamwork and collaboration.

Excellent communication skills at all levels.

Developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.

Collaborating with fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.


Teaching and Learning:

  • A clear understanding of the Curriculum.
  • Organizing the classroom provision and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
  • Observing and assessing children in line with school assessments.
  • Reflecting on classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting the environment, planning, and curriculum to reflect this.
  • Meeting with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, if required.
  • Managing classes effectively, using approaches that are appropriate to students' needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in History & Geography or related field.
  • Native-level English speakers or IELTS 8.0 for non-native level speakers.
  • PGCE or PGDE.
  • Minimum of 3-year experience as a Mathematics teacher.
  • Experience with the American/British Curriculum would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration for the well-being of children.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
