We are seeking to employ a motivated, enthusiastic and practically minded Inclusion Assistant to support the Inclusion Manager and the school’s pastoral team, in our vibrant oversubscribed Catholic school.

 The post is a new one due to the expansion of the school and its pastoral interventions

 The applicant needs to have:

·        Highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

 The applicant should be:

·        Educated to a good standard

·        Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative

·        Self-motivated and well-organised

·        Have a strong interest in developing the role

·        Able to build strong relationships with students and parents that are based upon trust, communication and empathy

·        Able to deputise for the Inclusion Manager as appropriate, with regard to meetings and liaising with outside agencies

 Key Responsibilities:

 ·        Respond appropriately to pastoral and safeguarding concerns and be proactive in identifying risk factors and implementing solutions

·        Work with the Inclusion Manager to facilitate the provision of mental health support, and ensure the caseload is managed for students via the counselling service within school and/or other agency support

·        Support in the coordination of Health Care Plans for students

·        Support in the coordination of whole school events such as mental health day, school photographs and vaccinations

·        Support the Inclusion Manager and work alongside the pastoral team in promoting the school’s response to mental health

·        Support in the coordination of the statutory daily requirements for attendance
