John Whitgift Academy are looking to appoint an Inclusion Coordinator and DDSL to join our academy in September 2023 on a full time, permanent basis.

The role 

As the Inclusion Coordinator and Deputy DSL, you will promote a learning environment which supports high expectations. You will lead the Inclusion team ensuring that student learning and achievement needs are met, whilst contributing to and ensuring the effectiveness of the Inclusion team. You will model the vision and values of the academy and the Trust and receive and act on feedback to build on the strengths and improve personal performance within the academy systems. You will communicate clear purpose and vision to the Inclusion team, leading on all aspects of inclusion, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Gifted and Talented. You will always promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people. You will also support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in the academy in your role as Deputy DSL.

Our academy

We currently have over 900 students on role aged 11 to 16. Our academy is situated close to the A180 making it ideal for commuting. Despite being one of the most rapidly growing academies in North East Lincolnshire, due, primarily to our success and outcomes over recent years, relationships between students and staff are excellent and we have maintained a small school friendly atmosphere. Behaviour in our academy is very good with a relentless focus upon learning and aspiration. 

In addition, we are fortunate to have some outstanding facilities that help to further enhance the quality of teaching and learning, such as, an Engineering block, 2 full size swimming pools and a 207 seater cinema.
