Job overview

Inclusion Mentor

37 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed individual to work with students who need to be internally isolated for the day as well as providing additional support for our student development team. This post would be ideally suited to an individual with experience working in a similar role within the education sector.

You must be able to build good relationships with students and communicate effectively with other academy staff to understand students’ needs. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that students complete academic work as well as being able to offer therapeutic interventions so that students can reflect on the reasons for their isolation and they can be successfully re-integrated into lessons.

Macmillan Academy is situated in Middlesbrough on Teesside and was rated good by Ofsted in the most recent inspection. We have over 1500 students on roll, including 300 in Post 16. Our strong reputation for academic success is matched by our desire to provide a holistic education for every student.

The post would be suitable for an experienced teacher or ECT with the capacity to teach across the age and ability range, including Post 16. The successful candidate will benefit from a wide range of CPD opportunities, including our expert teacher programme.

Closing Date:          Monday 24 March 12pm

Interview Date:      Week commencing 24 March

To apply please download an application form from our website at www.macmillan-academy.org.uk. Completed application forms should be returned to Human Resources, Macmillan Academy, Stockton Road, Middlesbrough, TS5 4AG or by email to recruitment@macademy.org.uk.
