Inclusion School is an independent, non-maintained special school, with places funded by Local Authorities, established to support the social, emotional and mental health complexities of young people and enable them to access a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum through a nurturing, safe and inclusive environment.

Reception  / School administration

  • Be the first point of contact for learners, parents and visitors arriving at the school. 
  • Deal with telephone and face-to-face enquiries efficiently and in a professional and supportive manner. 
  • Respond to messages promptly and accurately, passing on information to relevant staff members as necessary. 
  • Control access to the school in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures, including signing-in visitors, checking identification as necessary, issuing passes and notifying them of safeguarding and safety procedures. 
  • Morning administration duties include lunch orders, registers and attendance calls.
  • Day to day school transport communications.
  • Ensuring up to date learner information on the school MIS system, including learner medical appointments and leave requests.
  • Assist School Admin Officer in school arrangements and associated paperwork.
  • Stationery, medical and miscellaneous supplies -  stock take and ordering, receipt and distribution of deliveries.
  • Assisting the School admin officer and the wider school team in any administrative tasks as required.
  • To be a designated ‘responsible adult’  for first aid purposes and oversee the use of the first aid room, including any medication to be given and updating records accordingly. 

Communications support

  • Assisting the Inclusion Hampshire Comms Manager on school focussed content.
  • Develop and maintain a regular schedule for all media output and campaigns for Inclusion School including setting up school specific platforms.
  • Monitor and develop local and national opportunities for activity and promotion with influencers, organisations and events.
  • Report media monitoring stats monthly - social, website and print media.
  • Ensure the school website is maintained to be both relevant and accurate.
  • Producing and distributing monthly stakeholders newsletters ensuring correct usage of marketing / list management platforms i.e. mailchimp.
  • Support of internal events, campaigns and activities as required.

Experience / Skills and abilities

  • GCSE Maths and English grade C minimum, with high level competency in English to produce accurate and quality content to reach a range of audiences.
  • Knowledge and experience of ICT packages such as Google workspace, Adobe (or other design packages), Excel and willingness to learn school management software.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage workload effectively. 
  • Be flexible to be able to cope with conflicting demands, deadlines and interruptions.
  • Knowledge and experience of using social media channels, ideally in a professional capacity.
  • Ability to update the website using CMS knowledge (ideally Wordpress), or the willingness to learn. 
  • Understanding of working with vulnerable young people and the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR.
  • Ability to complete tasks with an eye for detail.

  • This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and a three month probationary period. As with all posts, the successful applicant will be required to provide proof of their right to work in the UK and, if they have lived abroad, overseas police clearance/s will need to be sought 
  • To attend safeguarding training when required.
