We are looking to recruit two Level 3 apprentices to join our Inclusive Learning Department here at the City of London Freemen's school in Ashtead, Surrey. Working closely with class teachers, you will help pupils to expand their knowledge and play a positive role in school life. With strong communication skills, you will be positive, friendly and adaptable with an ability to build relationships with children and demonstrate a growth mindset.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process a Criminal Record Bureau check will be required.
This apprenticeship role is based at City of London Freemen’s school Ashtead Park, Surrey, KT21 1ET and will last for 24 months (including time to complete your End Point Assessment).
If you are enthusiastic and committed to achieving your Teaching Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship and are eligible to apply, we would love to hear from you.
To qualify for this apprenticeship, you will need to be:
· 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
· Living in England
· Not in full-time education at the time of applying
Prior learning: If you have prior learning e.g., a similar or higher level of qualification than the apprenticeship we will be unable to consider your application as your prior learning will not meet the funding rule criteria. If you are a non-UK citizen – you need to have permission from the UK government to live in the UK (not for educational purposes) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship.
Selected apprenticeships require evidence of English and Maths GCSE Grade C/5 or equivalent.
Selection for the apprenticeship is on the basis of suitability and commitment to the apprenticeship, not qualifications.

About City of London Freemen's School
City of London Freemen’s School is a mixed, selective, non-denominational all-through school with sixth form situated in Ashtead, Surrey. It is an independent boarding school owned by the City of London Corporation, which provides 16 of its 22 governors. The school will provide 920 places for primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 7-18, when fully subscribed.
City of London Freemen’s was founded in 1854 in Brixton, where it educated both boys and girls. It moved to its current Surrey location in 1926, expanding in size to accommodate increasing numbers of students.
"Our mission is to learn, lead and make a difference. We live and breathe that ethos every day here at Freemen’s: staff and students. Academic excellence is a given, that’s the foundation of any good school and we are very firmly rooted in a tradition of achievement. However, good grades and progression to top universities only make up part of the picture here in Ashtead Park. We want to develop balanced, compassionate, rounded and unpretentious young people, who will go out into the wider world and leave a lasting impact: young people who can and will make a difference throughout their lives."
Headmaster, Roland Martin
