About the role

Fashion & Retail Awards is a new organisation created to provide trusted assessment services to industry. As an independent offshoot of the Fashion Retail Academy, we have educational excellence and industry responsiveness at our core.

We are initially launching an End Point Assessment offer; this service will be extended over time, as directed by our partners in industry and our independent board. All proceeds from our services are re-invested in the Fashion and Retail Academy charity, which exists to inspire and develop the next generation of talent.

We are looking for Independent Assessors, who have first-hand occupational experience and a firm grip of best practice in assessment, to conduct assessment activities and arrive at fair, consistent, and impartial grading decisions. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to broaden their existing assessment experience and become a key contributor to the quality of our service.

About you

For success in this role, you will need to be uncompromising in the balanced application of assessment standards, be able to apply and evidence independence of judgement, and bring integrity to your approach. This means working positively with clients and candidates to guide them through their assessment experience, escalating potential improvements to the way we do things, and producing robust feedback to candidates.

This role would suit individuals with relevant, current, or ongoing industry experience and experience of making grading judgements and applying assessment frameworks.

We are initially looking for people with hands-on experience relevant to the following standards:

  • Retailer (Level 2)
  • Retail Team Leader (Level 3)
  • Retail Manager (Level 4)
  • Buying and Merchandising Assistant (Level 4)
  • Assistant Buyer/Assistant Merchandiser (Level 6)

Successful applicants will be appointed to a talent pool, where although there is no guarantee of work, and no obligation to accept what is offered, we are ideally looking for our Independent Assessors to undertake a minimum of 15 days’ work per annum.

Salary:

Competitive rate (payment per assessment)
