We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified Individual Needs Teaching Assistant to join the IN Department from September 2019 on a permanent basis. Part time applications are welcomed for those seeking to work 30+ hours per week.
Based at the school’s Alwoodley site, the role is to support teaching, learning, pastoral and personal care needs for students with a range of individual needs and disabilities across the 3-18 age range. As part of the role the successful candidate will support students with individual needs and disabilities to work independently, in groups and in class, as well as plan and deliver lessons based on agreed targets and schemes of work. The role will also consist of providing personal care to students with physical disabilities, including supporting them with toileting, personal care and the delivery of a programme of physical exercises.
The successful candidate will have English and Maths to GCSE level or equivalent grade C or above, and at least NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent or a willingness to work towards. Experience of working with children is essential along with knowledge of the needs of students with IN and disabilities and the challenges they face.
