As an Individuals and Societies (INS) Teacher at Amity International School Amsterdam, you will be a dynamic and inspirational educator with a strong theoretical foundation in geography, history and global issues teaching. Your primary responsibility is to collaborate on designing a concept-based curriculum to enhance creative thinking, engaging and differentiating for students at all levels with a constructivist approach.  Your commitment extends to maintaining the school's good name, supporting its members, and upholding the highest professional standards.

Your Profile 

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Relevant international teaching experience 
  • Experience of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) 
  • Experienced in teaching Individuals and Societies/Humanities across the whole senior school 
  • Experience working with multilingual children B.A. Degree in Education or other relevant degree/teaching qualification 
  • Subject specialty in Physical Geography   desirable

  • Thoroughly plans lessons in line with the curriculum, ensuring continuity and natural transitions. 
  • Engages in collaborative planning as part of a team. 
  • Incorporates student-initiated inquiry into teaching plans. 
  • Commits to learning and keeping up to date with current research.   
  • Adopts adaptive teaching methods to respond to changing student needs. 
  • Maintains high standards of behavior and enforces them consistently. 
  • Demonstrates commitment to professional development. 
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues for professional growth. 
  • Contributes to workshops for staff and parents.
