Linwood School is an all aged range mixed, day special school which welcomes pupils from a wide geographical area and supports a comprehensive range of special educational needs including moderate (MLD), severe (SLD) and profound (PMLD) and complex learning difficulties (CLD) as well as pupils with autism (ASD).

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Information, Advice & Guidance Support Worker to join our small team from September 2019.

This role supports delivery of a programme of IAG and will contribute to the development of the support available for young people through transition and beyond, into further education, training and employment.  Information will be shared through face-to-face, telephone, email and other digital means.  Therefore the successful applicant will need to be confident in working with a variety of organisations as well as working with the students across our campuses.  A high level of competency in delivering careers advice is essential.

The successful applicant will be required to manage a caseload working on a one-one basis with students, attend meetings with external providers, parents and members of the wider school community and record interactions and outcomes within a database.  You will need a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel and be well organised and capable of working to deadlines.   Our Information, Advice & Guidance practitioners work to the Gatsby Benchmark for best practice in careers, Ofsted and the CDI.

The hours of work for this position will be 35 per week to be worked Monday to Friday, term-time only.  There may be some requirement to work occasional evenings dependent on events throughout the school calendar so some flexibility is required.
