Vision and values

The aim of St Joseph's Catholic Primary School is to improve the relationship each student has with God, by having active and creative minds and by being a good influence in the local community. The Catholic school promotes high self-esteem and ensures students leave with a passion for learning.

Students enjoy the chance to be on the pupil council or act as "eco-warriors" to help care for the environment. The school has guest speakers during term time and allows students to take part in group tasks, in order to improve their social development. The school works closely with families and local parishes, to give the children the best education and help them reach their moral, spiritual and social potential.

Ofsted report

“Last year, pupils in Year 6 performed significantly above the national average in spelling, punctuation and grammar because basic techniques are well taught. Pupils in Year 1 also attained above-average standards in the screening check for phonics (linking sounds and letters). Opportunities for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development are strong and prepare pupils well for life in modern Britain. Behaviour is good. Pupils enjoy school and feel very safe.”
