Purpose of the job: To deliver practical sessions to a range of students and provide accessible and high-quality learning experiences to meet the needs of the customer

Due to growth within our Horticulture Department, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our specialist curriculum team. 

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of horticulture training, using resources within our horticulture and glasshouse facility. Following a £8 million upgrade, our Horticulture Department boasts a new fully automated, hydroponic commercial glasshouse unit with PHILIPS LED lighting, PRIVA environmental management system and four glasshouse compartments including a propagation unit, a retail area, polytunnels, nursery fields and a micro propagation unit. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is an effective team player but is equally confident in working independently. You will need to have a proven practical background in horticulture, ideally with some experience of working within a glasshouse environment. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a level 4 qualification in a related subject. 

Our students remain our key focus, so you should also be willing to share your skills, knowledge and experience through support for curriculum delivery to learners. You will assist in the delivery of practical teaching sessions to Further and Higher Education students and Apprentices and contribute to curriculum development. You will also help to maintain premises, equipment, and consumables associated with the Horticulture Department in order to adhere to the standards required by Curriculum Manager. Furthermore, you will need to be highly organised, a good communicator with people from a range of backgrounds, and be competent in the use of IT.
