Job overview

About us

Doha College is a high-profile, leading British International School in Qatar delivering a well-balanced, all-embracing English National Curriculum to students aged 3–18. The College was also the first High Performance Learning accredited school in the world. An exciting time for the school, last year we moved to a brand new, 90,000m² state-of-the-art campus, amalgamating two previous sites and ensuring the College’s place at the forefront of educational provision in world-class facilities.

Instrumental Music at Doha College is a flourishing department that offers students one-to-one instrumental music, vocal and theory tuition. The team comprises a team of six members teaching instruments including piano, strings, brass, woodwind, guitar, ukulele and voice. We enter students for varying examination boards, competitions and festivals both nationally and internationally in our thriving and busy department.

The opportunity

We are now looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic specialist to join our team in a full-time capacity. We would prefer a multi-instrumentalist as listed above, but this is not definitive. In addition to woodwind, piano would also be beneficial. As an Instrumental Music Teacher, you will be responsible for students from beginner to diploma level. Doha College uses the Google Education Suite, so knowledge of this would be beneficial, alongside high-quality organisation skills and flexibility amidst a changeable and busy environment.

About you

To be successful, you should have a degree in music/performance, and a teaching qualification would be advantageous. You should be a highly motivated and successful practitioner who is willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the Music Department and wider College life. This is a tremendous opportunity for a Music teacher to join our department and further develop their career.

In return

Full-time instrumental staff receive a tax-free salary, a monthly accommodation allowance, and an annual flight allowance. Valuing the importance of recruiting and retaining the best staff, the professional development offered at Doha College is significant.

Please note: Due to government requirements, we can only consider applicants who are below 50 years old for this position.

As part of the selection process, candidates will be required to complete a pre-recorded Micro-teach that you will then submit to us. The recorded Micro-teach should be 10 minutes in length of your continuous teaching (live in class). Further details will be provided.

We reserve the right to close a position once we have received sufficient applications to form a shortlist. Early application is therefore encouraged.
