Job overview

This interim role, initially as a one year fixed term contract, has come about as our current Director of Education is taking one year of extended leave to go travelling with her young family.

This role is an exciting and key position within BPET. Established four years ago, the current holder has provided invaluable support and structure to the schools. It is through this great work we have ten primary schools all judged Good or better, three being judged as Outstanding by OfSTED.

The school’s are situated across London and Berkshire are performing 7% above the national average at the end of Key Stage 2. With this strong performance, we are seeking to grow sustainably, developing schools in clusters or hubs across the eight Local Authority regions we currently operate. Our target is to grow to 24 schools; three in the eight regions.

We are passionate about educational autonomy too – where schools deliver a curriculum, best suited to the needs of the community they serve. Through this, we have a diverse and exciting range of curriculum approaches, delivered by high quality teachers.

Through line managing Headteachers, you will have the authority to drive school  improvement, at pace across 10 schools, supported by Executive Headteachers.

In this role, you will drive the BPET School Improvement Strategy, with a clear Review Cycle across the schools, coordinate our broad CPD and collaboration offer, along with following up actions in schools that need most improvement.

We are looking for an Interim Director of Education who shares this commitment and holds values conducive to making our ambitious goals a reality. We are seeking someone who, like us, recognises that effective collaboration is the best route to outstanding achievement. This is an opportunity for someone to develop in the role, or bring something new to us, supporting our developments in new areas, possibly bringing secondary expertise.

Interim Director of Education

Bellevue Place Education Trust is a multi-academy trust that currently runs ten primary schools across London and Berkshire, with a long-term plan to grow sustainably to 24 schools.

We are seeking an inspirational leader who will:

• Influence and maintain high levels of ambition, expectation and provide the environment for schools to thrive, embed the ‘Learn, Enjoy, Succeed’ vision and support the delivery of the BPET 3 Year Strategic Plan.

You will be an experienced and innovative senior education professional with a proven track record of delivering significant improvement within a school or multi academy trust. You will combine a record of successful strategic leadership and sustainable school improvement with imagination, flair and determination to succeed. You will be an exceptional leader with the energy, rigour and authority to represent BPET effectively at the most senior levels in education.

This is a fixed term role while our current Director of Education takes a year long extended leave but is a chance to learn and develop in a well-established role.
