Job title:       Intervention Teaching Assistant

Location:          Westbourne School, Sutton in Ashfield, NG17 2EL

Hours:         37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary:        £20,906.25 per annum

Contract:        Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Westbourne School, part of Acorn Education.

About the Role

  • To ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students
  • To contribute to meeting aims and targets of pupils EHCPs
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others in relation to supporting literacy in the classroom.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students in terms Teaching/Instructing
  • To undertake an appropriate programme of support and intervention in accordance with the duties of a support worker as outlined in the generic job description.
  • To plan and deliver literacy/numeracy/intervention lessons that are differentiated to meet the needs of each pupil. Lessons will be 1:1 and can be full class groups where appropriate.
  • To effectively assess the progress made by the pupils during these lessons and use this to effectively to plan the pupils next steps to ensure good progress is made.

Qualifications Required

  • Maths and English L2 or GCSE grade 4
