Full Time

The States of Guernsey are recruiting for an Island Wide Teacher to join Education Services, with effect from 1 September 2024.

This is an exciting role for an experienced Primary School Teacher to work on an annualised hours basis on variable assignments throughout our primary school network. Island Wide Teachers can be assigned to different schools on a daily basis, or longer-term, dependant on the individual needs for Teacher support.

The aims and purpose of the job are:-

To facilitate a high quality learning experience which engages learners from Reception to Year 6 in all mainstream primary schools in Guernsey and Alderney.

To have high expectations of all young people and seek to address barriers to learning.

To promote a love of learning, intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset.

To share and support all primary schools’ responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

The position can be full-time or part-time. Part-time Island Wide Teachers benefit from annualised hours whereby they can work additional hours in the winter months when sickness is high but take time in lieu back in the summer months and at other designated times when sickness is lower. These positions have all the benefits of permanent class teachers and are paid from MPS3-UPS3. The role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers.
