Job overview

To support our IT team we are looking for a dedicated IT Administrator (m/f/d). Berlin Metropolitan School is the largest international school in Berlin. Over 1,000 students from more than 60 different nations learn together on our campus in the center of Berlin. BMS is an all-day school with a team of 200 staff members offering students from kindergarten to grade 12 a modern and value-oriented education based on local curricula and the best international programs.


Your main responsibilities are

  • installing and configuring software and hardware.
  • the configuration of network devices and firewalls.
  • the server administration Windows and Linux.
  • the maintenance and troubleshooting of problems and failures.
  • performing upgrades, security updates and system backups.
  • monitoring the performance and maintenance of IT systems and services.
  • maintaining and updating documentation of processes and configurations.
  • setting up employee accounts and workstations.
  • providing training and first-level support to employees.
  • Determining needs for hardware, software and other IT needs.


You are an excellent fit for this position because you

  • stand for a proactive, independent as well as reliable way of working.
  • have strong analytical skills and make professional decisions based on extensive review and preparation.
  • have solid knowledge in the administration of Windows Server systems.
  • have extensive experience with Hyper-V, SQL, Powershell.
  • have a good knowledge of current IT security measures and concepts.
  • have a solid understanding of current network technologies.
  • ideally already have experience with Navision, Cisco Meraki and Sophos.
  • have at least initial work experience in the area of IT administration.
  • have fluent written and spoken German and English.
