About the role:

We are looking for a strong and an experienced School IT Specialist to lead and manage all aspects of IT related work at our school. The IT Specialist assumes management responsibilities related to all areas of the School’s IT infrastructure and consequently plays an important role in the selection, implementation and management of information technologies.

Main duties :

  • Provide strategic management of all IT services at the School to enable effective teaching, learning and administration. And develop a strategy to ensure the provision of a highly effective IT network while forging strong collaborative relationships with teaching and administrative staff.
  • Investigate and implement hardware, software and IT infrastructure that is sustainable and responsive to the needs of all stakeholders of the School.
  • Develop , implement and maintain IT policies and procedures that ensure operational (business) continuity and compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Manage and optimize administrative systems , domain services including SSO, security, printers, backup, analytics, communication and business systems.
  • Implement and manage the School's IT infrastructure and systems within approve budget and resource allocations.
  • Lead an environment in which high quality services are delivered to staff, students and parents.
  • Manage the appointment and relationship of strategic partnerships with IT hardware, software and service vendors.
  • Co-ordinate security and risk management for information managed by, and of behalf of, the School.
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure cost-effective service procurement is achieved.
  • Strategically leading and developing the IT environment, including networks, servers, desktops/laptops, and operating systems.
  • Communicating with IT Manager to set priorities and plan IT delivery once the School is established.
  • Developing the School’s systems in line with key developments in the computer industry and educational organizations.
  • Producing and maintaining the systems and technological aspects of the school IT development plan, and preparing development proposals.
  • Participating in the development, planning and implementation of advanced communication systems for use both within the school and between school and home (including the use of internet-based technologies).
  • Ensuring the IT team develop, document, review, and improve operational processes and procedures that cover all areas of the team’s responsibilities and that they are fit for purpose.
  • Develop and present budgetary needs and expenses of the IT Services department to the Head of School.
  • Manage the allocation and monitoring of IT resources and prepare appropriate timely reports.
  • Manage third party vendors to organize warranty and repairs of IT equipment, negotiating resolutions where appropriate.
  • Undertake high level planning and/or implementation of policies and programs relating to operating systems, storage and networks.
  • Build and create a professional development environment, enhancing the technical and client facing skills of the IT Services team to achieve strategic goals of the School.
  • Coach IT Services staff, prioritize work to meet outcomes, monitor workloads, review progress of projects and provide feedback where necessary to staff .
  • Microsoft Teams Groups creating, management, applying policies
  • Azure AD (Entra ID) management
  • Knowledge of iSAMS
  • Setting up Audio and video systems
  • Firewall management, policy implementation
  • Preference for knowledge in Class Dojo and incorporating it in the school as well as setting up all the IT materials needed for school events and ensuring printer functionality in all aspects.
  •  Network Printers implementation, management, (Paper Cut Scripting)


 Qualifications:

  • Master or Bachelor Degree in computer sciences/IT related subjects 
  • 5 -6 years of IT experience , preferably at an international School(s)
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) qualification will be given preference
  • CCNA and experience in managing wired and wireless enterprise grade network topologies and firewalls
  •  Experience in implementing ERP and managing Office 365 and the integration with onsite Student Information Systems or equivalent
  •  Understanding of server and client operating systems and applications used in school settings, including SSO, Exchange
  •  Experience in managing software deployment
  •  Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in networking, hardware & software
  • High level of knowledge of School Portals
