We are seeking to appoint a full time IT Help Desk Support Assistant for our IT Department, for a permanent role beginning in April 2017. 

This full year position has a salary range of £20,543 - £22,998.

The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified and experienced person to assist in the Resources section of our Information Services Department.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a popular and successful sixth form college. 

This is a permanent full time position (37 hours per week). The successful post holder will need to be able to work flexibly at certain times of the year as occasionally there will be a need to work at weekends or evenings. 

The Information Services Department 

This Department currently consists of three sections and has nine full time and four, part time members of staff. The Department overall is responsible for all the MIS, Exams, IT, AV, Reprographics, Web and Learning Technologies needs of the College. This role will be part of the Resources section and focuses on the IT and Reprographics element. This means day to day work can be quite varied as each subject area has a unique requirement for their needs eg; CAD software in Design whilst Media has Adobe Premier. We currently have over 60 IWBs, 500 PCs, 25 MACs and around 200 laptops that we support. The College currently runs Hyper-V for our Servers on HP Storage Systems and the infrastructure runs via Fiber to Cisco / HP switches. 

The department works closely both with Staff and Students. 

The College offers all support staff the option of joining the Local Government Pension Scheme. This is a tax approved, defined benefit occupational pension scheme. The benefits under the scheme are based on the length of your membership and your final salary.

As Strode’s is in the process of merging with East Berks College travel between the College group sites may be required.

All eligible employees are offered membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme or Local Government Pension Scheme.
