Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for education, innovation, and leadership?
We are seeking a College IT Network Manager to play a key role in delivering high-quality IT services across our Sixth Form College provision.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic IT team, shape digital learning environments, and ensure that our infrastructure and systems empower both staff and students to achieve excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the delivery of IT services within the college, ensuring systems are robust, secure, and fit for purpose.
Provide technical expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and applications across the Trust.
Line-manage and develop the college IT team, fostering a customer-focused and innovative service culture.
Collaborate with senior leaders, curriculum staff, and other stakeholders to enhance the learner experience through technology.
Oversee IT resources, budgets, and projects to ensure value for money and timely delivery.
Drive the development of a technology-enhanced learning environment, supporting outstanding teaching and learning.
Ensure IT security, safeguarding (including e-Safety), and disaster recovery plans are in place and effective.
Contribute to Trust-wide IT planning, strategy, and innovation.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in IT management, ideally within education or a similar complex organisation.
Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, and emerging technologies.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team.
A proactive, customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.
The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity.

Ashton Sixth Form College is the leading provider of 16-18 education in the area. The college is located in Tameside, Greater Manchester and supports around 2,000+ students on A-Level and vocational programmes. The college also offers a number of Adult and Higher Education courses.

Over the past three years, Ashton has been ranked in the top 25% of colleges nationally. The DfE performance tables have also placed Ashton as the top college in the borough for the fourth year running (DfE, 2020).
