IT Officer

We are looking for someone who is ready to join a warm, welcoming team at the DRET IT & Data Team. You will work alongside experienced colleagues while also having the wealth of support from the central IT & Data Team, we want someone to join us who will be vocal, challenge our thinking and be ready to start a career in IT Support with us.

An IT Officer at the David Ross Education Trust is someone who can learn whichever part of the IT Architecture and systems that make up delivering a world class IT service to our staff and students.

You will want to be able to notice everything our students do well and celebrate them, acknowledging with them their achievements using warm language to make them feel excellent and to make them feel seen. We are looking for someone who is passionate and has a clear professional drive to improve the outcomes and life chances of each and every student they work alongside. 

About the role

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, customer focused and can work to a high level of accuracy to contribute to further enhancing the values and culture at our academies.

This position is a permanent contract, working full time (37 hours per week, working days Monday – Friday). However, alternate working patterns such as term-time only working may be considered for the right candidate.

Who we are looking for

•  Educated to GCSE-level or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.

•  A skilled user of Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce, create and edit documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

•  Able to always maintain the strictest confidentiality and integrity.

•  Up to date knowledge of ICT, equipment, services, facilities all hardware and software applications to support learning and management within the academy environment

•  Sensitivity when collaborating work with colleagues at all levels.

•  Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Platforms 

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate well to a wide range of stakeholders.

•  Able work under your own initiative and deal with demands of a geographically dispersed team.

•  Able to work as part of a diverse team.

•  Able to promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people across the Trust.

•  Willingness to ensure that equal opportunities are promoted and developed across the Trust.

•  Able to promote inclusion at all levels.

•  Able to organise, lead and motivate staff at all levels.

•  Experience of providing excellent customer service.

•  Ability to use initiative to identify issues, problems or concerns and to know when to refer onwards.

•  Flexible approach to working arrangements and duties.

•  Experience of working in a school environment.
