Runnymede College is a private non-denominational British school in Madrid offering a British education to boys and girls of all nationalities from the age of two to eighteen. The education offered follows the British National Curriculum.

Founded as a private school in September 1967, the primary school was inaugurated in 1987, and since 1990, the whole School has been located in La Moraleja, in the north of Madrid. The School is currently being restructured and from September 2024 will be divided into Pre-Prep (Pre Nursery to Year 3), Prep (Years 4 to 8) and Senior School (Years 9 to 13). The new structure has meant creating additional posts of responsibility and numerous opportunities for professional development and promotion have arisen.

The school is looking to recruit an IT Support Specialist for an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Daily check of the operation of printers and photocopiers and resolution of incidents in this regard.
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Providing technical support to school staff and pupils
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in person, remotely and by telephone
  • Responsible for monitoring the resolution of incidents. Generating the necessary reports for quality control.
  • Maintaining and updating documentation (inventory)
  • Training users on new systems and software
  • Microcomputer management iPhones, iPads, teachers' computers, projectors, interactive whiteboards, apple tvs
  • Analyse staff needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost efficiency and accuracy
  • Support in ordering materials from IT suppliers
  • Control of the correct execution of backup copies on computers
  • Monitoring the correct distribution and installation of antivirus in all workstations and servers.
  • Monitoring the correct distribution and installation of operating system patches on all workstations and servers
  • Installation and enrollment of equipment due to new additions or replacement of equipment with new ones.
  • Hardware Repair Management
  • Router configuration, Cisco/Meraki, service management, external connections, Hardware

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in IT support or a related field is beneficial (desired - at least 2 years experience in a similar role)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Able to prioritise and make decisions
  • Excellent organisation, planning and project management skills
  • Quick to adapt to change, flexible
  • Customer Service focussed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience use the following tools - Mac work environment iSAMS, JAMF, Apple School Manager, Meraki, Google Classroom, Filemaker, Box, Slack, Wordpress.

Runnymede College is a private school that provides a British education for English-speaking students of all nationalities who are resident in Madrid.
