Job Purpose:

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and problem resolution of IT systems within the school. The role requires technical expertise to support IT service provision, meeting both immediate and long-term demands.


Key Responsibilities:


IT Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Provide advanced technical support for computers, servers, printers, mobile devices, and software applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating to external vendors when necessary.
  • Support and manage Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), and administrative applications.
  • Assist users with Microsoft 365 and other cloud-based platforms.


Network & System Maintenance:

  • Ensure the security and reliability of the school's IT infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN, and cloud services.
  • Perform system updates, data backups, and security monitoring.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control across various platforms.


Audiovisual (AV) Support:

  • Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment, including projectors, smartboards, microphones, speakers, and digital signage.
  • Provide technical support for school assemblies, performances, online events, and classroom AV setups.
  • Troubleshoot AV issues to ensure high-quality sound and visuals.


Cybersecurity & Data Protection:

  • Implement IT security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection policies.
  • Monitor cybersecurity threats and take preventive measures.


Asset & Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT and AV equipment, software licenses, and warranties.
  • Assist in purchasing and upgrading IT and AV resources as needed.


User Training & Documentation:

  • Conduct training sessions for staff on IT and AV tools.
  • Develop user manuals, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure compliance with ICT policies at school and group levels.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Vocational Training or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting AV systems (interactive displays, sound systems, video conferencing tools such as Zoom & Teams).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Web technologies, Exchange, and Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with networking, firewalls, Wi-Fi management, and server maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and cloud-based solutions.
  • Certifications such as ITIL are an advantage.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in an educational or international school setting.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS).
