Pierview Academy is a small independent school providing continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. We are a long-term provision for learners on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We cater for up to 40 young people in their secondary and post-16 school years, from the ages of 11 to 25. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with learners so that they are able to overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs led approaches.

We are excited to have vacancies for people to join our team. Currently we are looking for an IT teacher. The post holder will specialise in teaching IT to learners with learning difficulties/disabilities in both individual and small group learning sessions.

As a specialist the post holder will be able to plan, deliver and assess their own teaching and learning activities with some direction and supervision from the senior management team. They will work all key stages and will be able to teach learners in accordance with the school’s curriculum policy. They may also be tasked with supporting or delivering other subject areas.

The IT Teacher must promote E-safety within the school.
