Hereford College of Arts is currently seeking applications for a national Artist in Residence Scheme

Artists Access to Art Colleges Scheme (AA2A) is a project from the Council for Higher Education in Art and Design, funded by the Lottery through the Arts Council, England.

The Artists Access to Art Colleges project is a national scheme which has been established for more than eight years. Hereford College of Arts is one of 32 colleges and universities across England that has been successful in its application each year to run an Artists Access scheme.

At a local level the AA2A scheme will give four artists and makers each year the opportunity to use the college’s facilities from - computers to kilns and life rooms to libraries, to develop their work. This allows students to work alongside artists and gain a valuable insight into the art world outside college.

Hereford College of Arts is looking for applications in the following specialist areas: printmaking, wood, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, artists books, multi-media, photography, animation & painting. The scheme will run from Oct 07 to April 08.

• Access is free, for at least 100 hours, between Oct 2008 and April 2009 and a materials/travel grant of £220 is available

• Applicants must have at least one years professional practice and should be able to work with minimal technical support

• Artists on AA2A schemes run from 2005 to 2006 or before can reapply
