Cherry Orchard Primary Academy are seeking an IT Technician (Apprentice) to join their vibrant team. The successful candidate will support and maintain all IT hardware and services across the school site in which the appointed candidate will be based and assist with any IT issues on day to day basis. Our ideal candidate will be able to communicate with non-technical staff members and students in a polite and concise manner, with the ability to prioritise work in line with our Service Level Agreements. ​​​​​​​

This is a full time position (37 hours per week) offering a salary of £15k + 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, starting as soon as possible. Please be aware that the role will require travelling between sites, therefore a driving licence and access to a car is essential and mileage between sites can be claimed for. The role is initially offered on an 18 - 21 month contract, with every intention to make permanent thereafter based on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.​​​​​​​

Apprenticeship Summary

Working weeks: Monday - Friday 

Total hours per week (on average): 37 hours per week (including the 20% training element of the Apprenticeship Programme) + holiday allowance

Apprenticeship duration: Approx. 18 - 21 months

Programme delivery type: Blended learning, fortnightly face to face teaching on Wednesdays along with e-learning

Start date: As soon as possible 

Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Apprenticeship standard: Information Communication Technician Support Technician

Essential entry qualifications: 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Maths and English​​​​​​​

  • Be part of a Trust-wide team of approx. 30 IT Technicians with a wealth of experience between them, so you'll be part of a close-knit and supportive group of colleagues ​​​​​​
  • Receive 25 days annual leave per annum (plus bank holidays) which increases to 30 days when you've been employed for 5 years

About Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard

Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard is a new two-form entry primary academy for students between the ages of 3 to 11 that opened in September 2017. The academy admits a maximum of 60 children into each year between Reception and Year 6 having initially opened with places available in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.  We have continued to expand and from September 2021 we have children up to year 6 and with every year group at full capacity.

The academy enjoys brand new facilities, a nursery for pre-school age children, and a small centre for children with speech, communication and language needs. At the heart of Ebbsfleet Garden City, Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard is the focal point of this brand new community, providing local families with an outstanding educational facility.
