Job overview

IT Technician

Full Time – 52 weeks

Required for: At the earliest opportunity

Gresham’s School is situated in the Georgian town of Holt and sits within 200 acres of glorious countryside. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the Norfolk Broads and the North Norfolk Coast just a few miles away.

At Gresham’s we offer a rare opportunity where children can join us at our Nursery and Pre-Prep School from the age of 2 and continue with their education at our Prep and Senior Schools to the age of 18. We recognise that every child has different strengths and talents and we pride ourselves on recruiting staff who can recognise, nurture and help pupils reach their true potential.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced full-time IT professional to join the small dedicated team within Gresham’s IT Support function. As an IT Technician, you will support all aspects of the day to day running, servicing and maintenance of all core services and systems at Gresham’s school.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking including hardware and software based switches, routers and firewalls. The requirement for broad extensive knowledge of IT in previous employment and study would be considered an advantage and would enable the successful candidate to quickly learn and confidently manage the existing school IT systems.

The safeguarding responsibilities of this role are clearly outlined in the recruitment pack, please make yourself aware of these as you consider applying for this post.

About Gresham's School

Gresham’s is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 2-18. It is situated in the Georgian town of Holt in beautiful countryside, just three miles from the breathtaking North Norfolk coast.

The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham who forged close ties with The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers. On his death, he left the school in their care and strong links with them and the City of London remain to this day.

The school enjoys a generous campus with excellent facilities including a state-of-the-art music building (Britten) with its own recording studio, indoor and outdoor performance spaces including a theatre (Auden), multi-surface sports pitches, tennis courts, swimming pool, sports hall and shooting range. The Dyson Building opened at Gresham’s in September 2021. Sir James Dyson, a former pupil at the school, enabled the innovative new centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

The school has an impressive list of Old Greshamians including the composer Benjamin Britten, the poet WH Auden, Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman and international rugby players Tom and Ben Youngs, to name but a few.
