Do you have experience of IT and technical support?

We are looking to appoint an IT Technician to join our hardworking and dedicated support team. You will provide technical support and guidance to staff on how to use software/hardware correctly in classroom situations. You will install, customise and maintain ICT equipment and ensure the continued operation of school networks.

You will have previous practical experience of working in an IT support environment, hold an IT qualification Level 2 or equivalent and be educated to a minimum of GCSE (Grade C or above in English and Maths) standard. 

You will additionally support the music and drama department with lighting, sound and video for examinations and whole school productions. The academy is fortunate to have a substantial inventory of lighting and sound equipment, and dedicated drama spaces with professional equipment to support productions and learning. Candidates with relevant experience in this area would be welcomed.

You will be working for 22.5 hours per week, all year round. You will work a minimum of three days per week, the details of which can be agreed at interview. The post is open to a degree of flexibility as long as it falls within the hours of 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

You will:

  • Provide in house support for IT issues.
  • Be part of a pro-active team.
  • Install, repair and configure all aspects of the schools IT Systems
  • Provide first line support to the service desk and posses an outstanding customer care skills.
  • Provide ICT and technical support, including lighting, sound, audio and visual for the Music and Drama departments, plus whole school, and external events.
  • Contribute to the development of the Academy IT infrastructure and ensure efficient delivery of Academy IT Projects.
  • Ensure a well-functioning internal IT support infrastructure for the academy and, where required, its hub academies.
  • Be caring and supportive, and committed to achieving excellent results.
