We wish to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior ICT Technician . This exciting role will work as part of the support staff team the post will support with the maintenance & management of ICT related functions of the school under the leadership of the Head of ICT.

The role is ideal for those new to the profession, seeking to pursue a career in IT. This appointment will be critical in assisting with the school’s ICT functions to deliver an excellent network of hardware and software which will improve school effectiveness. This role will be a key first step for those professionals wanting to develop their skills and broaden their ICT knowledge and experience to help develop their professional career.

Role

The role of the Junior ICT Technician is to support with the provision of maintenance, installation and support services to cover all ICT needs within St Augustine's Federated Schools. The post-holder will report to and be mentored by the Head of ICT.

Key Tasks

  1. To work alongside the schools Network Manager to continually develop the ICT infrastructure of the school
  2. With support and guidance from the Network Manager, ensure that all servers, computers and other ICT equipment is maintained in full working order, repairing or organising repair of defective items when necessary
  3. To support with Health & Safety related considerations linked to ICT systems i.e. PAT Testing
  4. With support and guidance from the Network Manager, ensure that software is upgraded and installed as necessary and that appropriate licences are purchased
  5. With support and guidance from the Network Manager, install and configure new hardware and software when appropriate
  6. Identify problems and find solutions either in-house or through external advice and services to keep all software and hardware fully operational
  7. To provide support to users of the school’s Management Information System and other administrative software
  8. With support and guidance from the Network Manager, ensure that both school website and Intranet are kept up to date
  9. To support with the schools’ compliances, such as GDPR
  10. To provide support for the wider community of the school including, but not limited to:
  • Local primary schools
  • Partner organisations
  • To undertake the necessary training associated with the post
