Queen’s Gate is a thriving GSA day school for girls aged 4 –18 and is ideally situated in Central London to take advantage of the many educational opportunities on offer. We wish to appoint from 1st September 2022, a suitably qualified Music specialist to the position of Music Co-ordinator in our Junior School.  The successful candidate will be required to teach Music throughout the Junior School and possibly in the lower end of the Senior School, as well as leading a range of extra-curricular musical activities in the Junior School. He/she will need to be a competent pianist and ideally also play an orchestral string instrument.  Passion for Music, flexibility, a willingness to work as part of a team and a sense of humour are all desirable attributes. Experience of independent schools would be an advantage.  This is a part-time position ( 60% of full-time).

Queen’s Gate  is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and have references taken up with previous employers, including the most recent.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
