An opportunity has arisen within our Junior School for a forward-thinking and innovative teacher to join our teaching team. We are very proud of our history where we set out to be a pioneering School especially in the area of science and creating opportunities for girls - this role aims to do just that! This is a new post that will also encompass developing the use of digital technology throughout the curriculum and age ranges. There are also exciting plans in the making for creating a new bespoke digital classroom alongside a design and build space in the School. Salary:

Badminton operates its own pay scale. Staff joining Badminton School are assimilated on to the Badminton Scale at a point appropriate to their qualifications and experience and the post to which they are appointed.

The School offers membership of a contributory pension scheme and has a contractual sick pay scheme.

Hours:

This post is offered as a permanent position. Term-Time only.

Duties include, but are not restricted to the following:

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Science, Design Technology and Computing areas of the curriculum;
  • Inspire and support other members of the Junior School teaching team who are teaching these areas;
  • Create initiatives and opportunities for pupils beyond the curriculum in science, technology (design and digital) and product innovation.

 

General Responsibilities

It is the teacher’s responsibility to ensure that the following takes place:

  • The school has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment;
  • To create an atmosphere in which the pupils can learn and to motivate and stimulate them to develop their potential academically, creatively and socially;
  • To ensure that the classroom is a safe, well-resourced and stimulating environment in which the pupils are able to learn effectively;
  • To co-operate and support other staff members both within the curriculum and as colleagues;
  • To liaise with colleagues about the needs and progress of pupils;
  • To attend all organised in-service training days;
  • To ensure that work is marked regularly and effectively giving praise, constructive criticism and identifying targets, following our Marking Policy;
  • To undertake break time, lunch time and after school duties as required;
  • To develop a good working knowledge of relevant School policies.
