Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers for

Full Time Temporary K-6 Teaching position. Commencing term 2 2019 to end of 2019 school year.


Applicants must:

  • have a commitment to the practice of the Catholic faith;
  • have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school;
  • have an understanding of the 21st century learner;
  • be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning, in partnership with the parent community;
  • hold a current NSW Working with Children Work;
  • have the ability to teach K-6;
  • full registration with NESA (Previously known as BOSTES) with provisional accreditation status.


Applications together with complete personal and professional resume, details of background and experience, service record, full documentation and names, addresses and phone numbers of at least three referees including a current/past employer and Parish Priest or Minister from their local place of worship.

St Joseph's Primary School is a co-educational Catholic school providing education to the West Kempsey community. The school caters to children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

All classrooms at St Joseph's are equipped with interactive technologies that support and enhance students' learning. Other facilities include a healthy canteen, well-stocked library, school hall, vast green play areas and undercover learning areas.

Curriculum

St Joseph's follows the recommended NSW Board of Studies curriculum guidelines with the implementation of traditional core disciplines. The Key Learning Areas are English, Mathematics,  Science and Technology, Religious Education, Human Society and its Environments, Creative Arts and Personal Development and Health and Physical Education. Drama, dance, chess, gardening, choir and band practice are also available. Additionally, students have the opportunity to get involved in various sporting events, these include the swimming carnival, cross country and the athletics carnival.
