Hillview International School, Malawi, Africa

About Hillview International School

Situated in Limbe/Blantyre, in the 'Warm Heart of Africa', Hillview International School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, all-through independent school in Malawi, serving students from the ages of 2-16.

Built on the original airfield of Limbe, Hillview is arguably one of the most beautiful school campuses in Malawi, with large, tree-lined sports fields, forest walks, an adventure playground, two tennis courts, a 25-metre pool and a hall holding 200 guests. The Primary is very well established since the late 1950s. Hillview High School is now in its seventh year of development and is growing, whilst achieving excellent standards (in our last exam series 61% of all IGCSE exams taken scored A*-B). Hillview has a range of excellent facilities including a library, an IT suite, Food Technology classroom, a Drama/Art studio, as well as onsite nursery and pre-nursery classes.

Values and vision

Hillview International School provides students with the opportunity for outstanding education to prepare them for a future world of work and life. The all-through school experience allows students to grow within Hillview's ethos and values, nurturing students within an inclusive multi-cultural, international setting and providing them with the skills, knowledge, and experience to develop as enthusiastic, independent life-long learners. Our students become successful citizens in all walks of life, building on their foundations and experiences from Hillview to become confident, compassionate, and caring individuals, with a strong sense of social responsibility.

Hillview International School's core values are honesty, hard work, independence, loyalty, leadership, co-operation, integrity, excellence, responsibility, wisdom, and community.

The school encourages many extra-curricular activities ranging from sports teams to clubs and includes some more unique opportunities such as scuba diving, mountain climbing, rotary club and community involvement through JASS, in order to further expand our student's exposure, experiences, and opportunities and develop their skills and interests outside the classroom.

The school's smaller class sizes, single classes across year groups, and warm, family-friendly environment ensure our students and families feel welcome, included and valued.
