Job overview

Broomfield House School is a leading and outstanding Prep School located in Kew Gardens. The school has a rich tradition, is academically ambitious with a forward-thinking approach, putting each child at the very core. We are looking for an excellent Key Stage 1 class teacher who will fully commit to life in a busy London Prep School and who will embrace the school’s core values of Curiosity, Creativity, Courage and Kindness. Broomfield House School is part of Dukes Education who share the common purpose, to give children the foundations for an extraordinary life, through education.

The role is to be an excellent Key Stage 1 class teacher, working as part of our dedicated team in supporting each child on their individual learning adventure.

Key stage 1 class teachers are important members of our academic team, ambitiously developing our pupils as they make the transition from Early Years into the increasingly demanding academic challenges of Key Stage 1 and preparing them for the rigors of Key Stage 2. We strive to inspire genuine curiosity through our teaching and to equip our pupils with a real sense of self-esteem and confidence.

Experience and evidence of managing transition, harnessing pupils’ academic potential and making their learning inspiring and fun is essential.

All class teachers are supported by a full-time classroom assistant who helps prepare lessons, marks work and supports the learning needs of the class as a whole. There are also specialist teachers for Computing, Spanish, Drama, Music, Art and Sports.

You will have a high degree of motivation to develop the academic potential of our pupils along with a good understanding of the curriculum and academic requirements of Key Stage 1 and, ideally, some experience and understanding of the senior school examinations process for London independent schools.

This role is ideal for a highly organised, experienced and professional teacher who is passionate about making a positive difference to each pupil and the school as a whole.

An application form and job description may be obtained by emailing the Administration Manager, Mrs Smith, on bsmith@broomfieldhouse.com

Broomfield House School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Appointment is subject to successful references and an enhanced DBS check.
