Job overview

Job Title: Key Stage 1 Classroom Teacher

Location: Casterton, Sedbergh Prep School

Contract Type: Full or part-time, permanent

Salary: Competitive, in line with skills & experience

Casterton, Sedbergh Prep School is situated in a spectacular rural location in the Lune Valley, an ideal place for living out the ethos of allowing children to be children. We strive to realise the potential in all of our pupils, from the classroom to the stage, or to the sports pitch.

We now seeking a Key Stage 1 Classroom Teacher, with a passion and talent for bringing the best out of our younger pupils. Quality teaching in Key Stage 1, with an ability to differentiate, use assessment for planning and to build a caring relationship with pupils and parents are the key skills.

Our ideal candidate will be an outstanding primary practitioner, fully acquainted with the use of educational technology, with additional strengths in some subjects and a keen interest in the extra-curricular and boarding life of a busy prep school.

The position is permanent and could potentially suit applicants who are interested in either full or part-time working hours. Please indicate clearly on the application form whether you would be interested in full, part-time or both. Depending on interest and experience, there may also be an opportunity to build greater responsibility for Pre-Prep teaching and learning into this role and this can be reflected in applications and discussed at interview.

Accommodation may be available on site, suited to a couple or individual, though this is subject to capacity. Please make clear in your application if this is of interest or indeed is an essential part of your application.

This post is available from September 2022.
