Job overview

Give children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties the leadership to transform their lives.

At the heart of Academy Transformation Trust, Phoenix Academy supports primary age pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural issues. Our Thematic Curriculum introduces a new topic every half term and stimulates a real love of learning, and we are passionate about the Every Child Matters agenda – so we’re giving vulnerable children everything they need to become happy, stable and productive citizens.

Transforming outcomes every day, you will play a central part in shaping and delivering our innovative curriculum, whilst mentoring and developing teachers and teaching assistants. In particular, you will set key targets for academic achievement, behaviour and attendance, organise and manage groups of pupils to maximise their performance, and deliver effective strategies to include and encourage children with special educational needs.

A successful and accomplished primary teacher, you will ideally join us from an EBD school and will certainly bring strong knowledge of SEN. Needless to say, you will require considerable drive, passion and resilience to engage with children with a broad spectrum of needs, and you will be able to translate your high expectations and aspirations into marked and measurable progress. In short, you will be an exceptional practitioner looking to take your first step into management – and you can look forward to wide-ranging prospects, both here and across the Trust’s network of 24 academies.
