Key Stage 1 Leader

Job Description:

Thames British School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Key Stage 1. The successful applicant will be responsible for the academic and pastoral well-being of students in Years 1 and 2, ensuring that they receive the highest quality care and education.

Responsibilities:

• Employ best practices as a Key Stage 1 teacher with a 0.6 timetable (app).
• Lead and manage the KS1 team, providing guidance and support to teachers and teaching assistants.
• Develop and deliver an inspiring and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
• Facilitate high planning, teaching, assessment and feedback standards.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and personal development of all students.
• Work closely with parents and carers to build positive relationships and ensure that they are informed and engaged in their child's learning journey.
• Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to ensure that the school is delivering the best possible education to our students.
• Ensure that the Key Stage 1 team adheres to all relevant school policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, safeguarding, and child protection.

Requirements:

• Full Primary School teacher certification in the UK or the applicant’s native country (i.e. Bachelor of Education, PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role in an international school setting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
• A deep understanding of the developmental needs of KS1 students and a commitment to delivering outstanding pastoral care.
• Experience of delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
• A passion for teaching and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Familiarity with the Cambridge primary programme is desirable but not essential.
