Winhills Primary Academy is a mixed, mainstream primary school in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, for five to eleven year olds. This sponsor-led academy accommodates 265 pupils.

Winhills Primary Academy opened as a new school in July 2012. It’s run by the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust, which oversees four other schools in the local area. The senior leadership team comprises an executive headteacher, a head of school and a deputy headteacher.

Head of School

Susan Jaques

Vision and values

Winhills Primary Academy aims to provide an environment that fosters learning, respect, responsibility and friendship. Students are encouraged to achieve their academic potential, but the school celebrates children's efforts, not their results. Teachers promote British values such as democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of difference faiths and beliefs.

The school prioritises literacy and numeracy, but children receive a broad, balanced education that provides opportunities for investigation, problem solving and off-site visits. The subjects taught are English, maths, science, information communication technology, design technology, history, geography, RE, PE and PHSE.

Ofsted report

“The school successfully promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Activities are planned through the curriculum and a range of school trips are planned to support this. Discussions with pupils show that they have a good understanding of a range of faiths and have respect for others that have different opinions to themselves.”
