Job overview

Are you a teacher with passion, flair and creativity and want to make a difference to the children you teach? Do you want to be at the heart of children’s learning while living on the beautiful island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands?

We have a great opportunity for a Teacher at Castel Primary School for the Year 5 cohort starting in September 2017.

Why Guernsey? We can offer you a great work life balance with our own unique curriculum framework which aims to promote positive mental health and wellbeing with an emphasis on outdoor learning where creativity, teamwork, critical thinking and independence is encouraged with the Bailiwick’s children and young people at its very heart.

Our new curriculum has been designed by our teachers, for our teachers with a focus on 'joyous and purposeful learning'. We have taken away the prescriptive nature of the previous curriculum allowing you greater scope and space for professional decisions about what and how you should teach, enabling you to plan creatively within broader parameters.

This opportunity to take control of your teaching mixed with a happy work-life balance and the chance to live on an island that has beautiful beaches, cliff walks, lots of outdoor activity options and island hopping trips is unrivalled.

In return, we offer excellent relocation packages as well as other enhanced benefits for housing and rental support, participation in our pension schemes and competitive pay above the UK median.  Identified pathways for training and continuing professional development are strongly supportive to provide you with a rewarding career.
