Job Description:

Thames British School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Key Stage 2. The successful applicant will be responsible for the academic and pastoral well-being of students in years 3, 4, 5 and 6, ensuring they receive the highest quality care and education.


Responsibilities:

  • Employ best practices as a Key Stage 2 teacher with a 0.6 timetable (app).
  • Lead and manage the Key Stage 2 team, providing guidance, support and training to teachers.
  • Develop and deliver a challenging and engaging Key Stage 2 curriculum that meets the needs of all students, including those with learning needs.
  • Facilitate high planning, teaching, assessment and feedback standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and personal development of all students.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to build positive relationships and ensure that they are informed and engaged in their child's learning journey in Key Stage 2.
  • Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to ensure that the school is delivering the best possible education to our students in Key Stage 2.
  • Ensure that the Key Stage 2 team adheres to all relevant school policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, safeguarding, and child protection.


Requirements:

  • Full Primary teacher certification in the UK or the applicant’s native country (i.e. Bachelor of Education, PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in teaching Key Stage 2, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role in an international school setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A deep understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Experience of delivering a broad and balanced Key Stage 2 curriculum that meets the needs of all students, and an understanding of different teaching methodologies.
  • Experience of using data to monitor student progress and attainment, and the ability to use data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge primary programme is desirable but not essential.
