Primary school Teaching Assistant:
A small primary school in south Derby are looking for an experienced Teaching assistant to work with one of their year 6 teachers until the end of December. The role is to mainly assist the pupils who are below average performance and to try and bring them up to the level of the rest of the class. This is in anticipation of the of the SATs exams, to try and give the children the opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities.
· Experience in assisting a class teacher at a primary school level, preferably at key stage 2.
· High expectations of both your own work ethic and that of the children in the classroom.
· Similar ethical and moral values to that of the school, “lead by example”.
· A sense of pride in your work and the results that you gain in terms of assisting the children’s progression.
· Providing both academic and social support to the class
· Potentially covering some 1:1 intervention work with children who are particularly struggling in the class
· Looking after the needs of any mild SEN children within the mainstream classroom

To register with us, all candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview, hold an enhanced DBS check in Child Workforce on the Update Service and also gain references to cover the last 2 years. Please note that all teachers must hold valid QTS. For any Teaching Assistant roles you must hold an NVQ Level 2 or above, a relevant educational degree or a minimum of 3 months relevant experience within a UK school in the last 5 years.
