Job overview

Science is an energetic and growing department led by the Head of Science. The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for all the sciences and be well placed to generate and sustain a high degree of motivation in all pupils. Science has a high profile in the school and investigative work forms a large proportion of lessons.

Biology, Physics and Chemistry are the core subjects and teaching will take place in a one of three well-resourced laboratories.

The successful applicant will be an exemplary practitioner with excellent interpersonal and team-working skills and a strong interest in pastoral care. Our teachers set high standards of themselves and their pupils. If you are dedicated and energetic we offer a delightful working environment. Our fully resourced science laboratories and extensive outdoor facilities support a varied and exciting curriculum. Professional development opportunities are available and encouraged.

This position is initially for two terms (possibly leading to a permanent position) and would appeal equally to a teacher beginning their career, or to an experienced professional seeking a new challenge.

A willingness to play a full part in the extra-curricular and pastoral life of our happy and vibrant school is essential. Holme Grange has its own salary scale. The salary depends on age and experience.

Interviews 

Candidates will be invited to attend an interview at the School and to meet the Headteacher. Candidates will be asked to teach a lesson as part of the selection process.

The closing date for applications is 2nd May 2019 and interviews will take place week commencing 13th May 2019.
