Key Stage 3 teacher (small class) - social, emotional, mental health needs and learning difficulties

 In addition, a TLR is available for the right candidate – appropriate experience, knowledge and skills - Director of Maths

(Particularly responsible across our semiformal curriculum (primary and secondary) Pre–Key Stage standards to year 3, age related expectations.

Start date – preferably September 2023 / but will wait until January 2024

Main Scale / UPR + Minimum SEN allowance (Pay portability honoured)

 West SILC is a successful all age generic special school and an inspiring place to work and learn, where children are at the forefront of all decisions we make. We are seeking to recruit for September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter a teacher for a group of KS3 pupils with social, emotional mental health needs, in addition they also have learning difficulties. The approach is absolutely entrenched through restorative practice.

 The Governors wish to appoint a motivated and outstanding practitioner to join a committed, hard-working and experienced staff team. The person appointed would:

-     Be an outstanding practitioner in relation to teaching of students with social, emotional and mental health needs

-     Have the knowledge and experience of behaviour management and restorative strategies

-     Have the ability to deal effectively with students presenting challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques as appropriate

-     Have experience of working with students with additional needs

-     Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and staff.

-     Be confident, enthusiastic and actively embrace change.
