Merici College is an IB World School, authorized to offer the Diploma Program (Years 11-12) and in the process of candidacy for the Middle Years Program (Year 7-10).

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant / Food Technology Assistant. This position supports the Year 7 to Year 9 Food Technology Teaching staff in their day to day teaching. There may be a requirement to assist in the College café / canteen. 

This is a part-time, temporary (40 hrs p/f, 12 months) opportunity working 8 days a fortnight with flexible work arrangement depending on timetable.

Essential Criteria

  • Shows a strong commitment to the College's Catholic ethos and a willingness to foster it in the College community.
  • Effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure and well developed organisational, prioritisation skills while being flexible.
  • Be able to work independently but also to work as part of a team.
  • Participates in the meetings, liturgies and other activities held in the College for members of the Support Staff.
  • A current Food Hygiene and Handling certificate would be preferable (willingness to obtaining this)
  • A current Working with Vulnerable People card (WWVP)

This position is temporary in nature because the substantive occupant (the incumbent) is taking parental leave. The incumbent is entitled to return earlier to their substantive position in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.
