As a Kitchen Assistant at Avon Park School, you’ll be in the kitchen and front of house, preparing and serving a range of tasty, nutritious food. You’ll be working at the heart of our school, serving staff, our young people and visitors. We’ll expect you to follow food hygiene rules and keep health and safety in mind. But the key is ensuring that the kitchen is maintained to a high standard and developing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, pupils and visitors.

We’re ideally looking for you to have general catering experience gained in a professional setting, but if you are a competent home cook who copes well with feeding the masses, we’d still like to hear from you. Any relevant qualifications in a relevant subject would be beneficial but not essential. However, to be part of our team, the key ingredient is having the right attitude. If you’re hard working, friendly and dependable, you could be the perfect fit.

Independent, co-educational and truly inclusive, Avon Park School is registered to serve the needs of 70 pupils. The school opened in November 2013 and provides an outstanding environment in which young people with complex educational needs, communication difficulties or challenging behaviour can reach their full potential.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. Through our aspirational homes, schools and ethos, we’ve achieved the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Reward

We know you’re going to do great things. We offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. You’ll receive a competitive salary, full school holidays, contributory pension (matched up to 5%), Life Insurance based on two times your annual base salary and comprehensive induction and ongoing training, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance and Cycle to Work Scheme. Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.

For an informal discussion about the role please call Katy Grace – Senior Administrator on 01788 524448.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
