About the role
Columba Catholic College, Charters Towers is seeking an experienced and dedicated Kitchen Hand to commence in Term 3, 2023. This is a term time, fixed term contact completing 20 hours per week for the duration of 2023.
The role of the Kitchen Hand is to assist in the preparation of meals and ensure the kitchen and equipment is maintained in a safe, hygienic and tidy manner.

About you
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Demonstrated responsible outlook, with an ability to relate to school aged children
- Experience working within a team environment and individually as required.
- An ability to communicate with a range of individuals across primary and secondary school settings
- Ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships
- Ability to demonstrate maturity, flexibility, creativity and initiative within work role
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, flexible with a proactive attitude
- Flexible and responsive to the needs of the school community and driven to achieve the best outcomes for students.
Mandatory Criteria
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
- Current Food Handling Certificate or willing to obtain
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
- This position will be subject to a pre-employment medical assessment to support the selection process. For some positions, it may be necessary for the successful applicant to be immunised against certain preventable diseases in order to minimise the risk of transmission.
