We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our successful busy team. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Kitchen Manager to be responsible for the day to day running of our school kitchen who would relish the challenge to make a difference to our school meals service. The role requires a passion for delivering high quality school meals to our pupils and having the vision to integrate the kitchen into school life educating our children through healthy eating.
Experience of working in a similar environment would be advantageous to the role but not essential
Food Hygiene certificate level 2 is essential
Food hygiene level 3 and first aid desirable
NVQ level 2 in food prep, City & Guilds 706/2 or equivalent is desirable.

Key duties and responsibilities of a Level 3 Catering Manager with Line Management will include:
- Undertake skilled cooking activities and preparation of healthy, nutritious food in accordance with Government standards & the School Food Plan that pupils enjoy.
- Ensuring portion control in accordance with Government standards and agreed recipes and methods
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen including storage, cleaning, clear down, washing up and deep cleaning.
- Maintain records as required e.g. temperature monitoring, cleaning schedules, receipt of deliveries, stock rotation, maintaining safer food better business management file and allergies

About Hayes School
Hayes Primary School is a happy, thriving school in the seaside town of Paignton.
There are 455 children on roll including part time nursery children. The children are mixed ability with two classes per year group. The school has been fully refurbished over the past years and now boasts a nursery, early years and main school building. There is a large playing field, several playgrounds and a happy school community to fill them all!
Hayes School is the only school in Great Britain to teach all children to play steel drums and marimbas. We participate in South Devon Music Proms and Music for Youth competitions where we have been privileged to perform in the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.
The school has a stable, loyal staff including full time posts in Business Management, Financial Management, Pastoral Support, and Music and Drama.
