About Stanwell Fields CofE Primary School

Stanwell Fields was formed in September 2004 from the existing St. Anne’s and St. Mary’s Schools on this site. We have a long tradition of providing education here and are fully exploiting the opportunities that came from amalgamating the two schools.

We are very pleased to offer spacious accommodation in two buildings, which are linked with a covered way. Children have full access to all facilities across both buildings. We also have extensive fields and large playgrounds, including a separate area for the Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception aged children), which is fully enclosed for safety and security. The arrangement of the buildings allow us the advantage of being an all through school whilst still retaining the feel of offering a smaller community by having the foundation stage, infants and juniors as separate units within the whole.

We give considerable thought and planning to provide the best opportunities for children. We begin by providing an atmosphere where children and parents are happy and comfortable with the school. We provide a stimulating environment full of interesting displays, books, resources and activities that encourage children to become active and enthusiastic learners. We assess and monitor their learning carefully and set realistic and achievable targets which challenge all
our pupils to further their learning and development. The children learn that they are valued members of the school
community. From the beginning they are given small responsibilities and are taught the skills needed to socialise, share and co-operate. Ofsted praised us for the care we give our children and we want every child who comes to this school to have happy memories of their time here.

Stanwell Fields is a voluntary controlled Church of England School. This means that it has links to both the Church and Surrey Local Education Authority. The school’s admissions policy is the one set by Surrey LEA and we welcome children and families of all faiths.

Throughout the school, our work is based on principles, which are shared by all staff. It is our belief that we should:

· Provide a happy, secure, caring, high quality environment in which the academic and social needs of your child are met
· Work in partnership with parents and the wider community
· Provide a broad based curriculum which incorporates appropriate teaching methods for the successful delivery of the National Curriculum, Religious Education and the Learning Goals of the Foundation Stage
· Help the children to become self-disciplined, active learners, to be co-operative and to deal with other people with consideration and respect
· To gain knowledge of Christian values, to have opportunities to develop their spiritual life and to learn about other major faiths
· Teach the skills children need for life
· Be constantly self evaluating in order to assist the continuous improvement in the quality of education for pupils
· Ensure adherence to all aspects of the equal opportunities and racial equality policy
