To accommodate growth, Raffles International School, Umm Sequeim is looking to appoint qualified and experienced full time KS1 and KS 2 teachers from January 2023. RIS follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales and maintains a strong focus on English language development in Early Years.
Applications for this position are invited from teachers with the following:
• A passion for early childhood development
• English as a first language
• UK Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Degree plus PGCE
• A commitment to creative and imaginative teaching where the progress of every child is valued and maintained
• A fully inclusive approach to education
• Leadership potential
• Minimum 2 years’ teaching experience is preferred
Education provision at RIS has recently been judged ‘Outstanding’ by BSO, quality assured by OFSTED. The school was reviewed as ‘one of the most genuinely international schools in the city’ by Which School Advisor in 2021. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 24 students and levels of support are high. Single subject teachers take PE, Art, Music, MFL, Arabic and Islamic Education, providing a generous amount of PPA time for class teachers.
The school is located near Umm Sequiem beach and within sight of the Burj Al Arab. RIS occupies a large purpose-built campus for children aged 6 months to 18 years. Facilities include two swimming pools, three large gymnasia, extensive shaded outdoor areas, technology and IT labs and a small theatre. Academic standards are very high, with 87% of Year 11 students achieving A*-C at IGCSE and 79% achieving A*-B at ‘A’ Level in June 2021.
