About British International School of Tbilisi

BIST is an expanding school and is well-respected in the international and local community. It prides itself on the warmth of its welcome to children and parents from around the world. The multinational community represented by pupils and their families helps create a learning environment fostering global understanding and appreciation of each other and the variety of cultures we bring to our school daily.

We believe that education is essential for achieving success in a rapidly changing world.  We offer a dynamic, creative and supportive learning environment in which students of all abilities are encouraged and have opportunities to realise their academic and personal potential. Class sizes are small with an average of less than 20 students per class. Our classrooms are well-resourced with books and learning materials. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive Smartboard. ICT contributes to learning and teaching in all areas and is integrated into subject teaching throughout the curriculum. The school has a swimming pool, astroturf pitches, basketball and tennis courts, learning gardens and wonderful adventure play areas in its spacious grounds.

Our Primary Curriculum (Years 1-6) follows the International Primary Curriculum and the English National Curriculum. Classteachers are supported by specialist teachers in some subject areas such Art, Music and PE and each class has a dedicated Learning Support Assistant.
BIST follows the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level programmes at Key Stages 4 and 5. Our wide range of subjects are all taught by specialists in their field.

BIST is a Patron's Accredited member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).
